The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has granted approval for a Rs. 4.13 per unit increase in the electricity tariff for November 2023 on account of monthly fuel adjustment.
This decision impacts all consumers, with the exception of lifeline and K-Electric customers.
The revised tariff is set to take effect on bills issued in January 2024, as stated in a notification released by NEPRA on Thursday.
The hike in electricity tariff was approved in response to a request from the Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA).
Notably, NEPRA had previously raised the power tariff by Rs. 3.00 per unit when determining fuel costs for October 2023. The consistent approval of these electricity price hikes by NEPRA is prompting consumers to swiftly transition to solar systems as an alternative.
