The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has initiated legal action against four illegal housing schemes following directives from Director General Muhammad Saif Anwar Jappa, as per Associated Press of Pakistan. FIRs were lodged against the owners of these unauthorized schemes, including Kashmir View Residencia (Phase-I&II), GB Valley, Natha Dolal, Sain Singhori, and Pak Kashmir Housing Project. The FIRs were filed at Mandra police station in Tehsil Gujar Khan.
The Metropolitan Planning and Traffic Engineering (MP&TE) Directorate of RDA, responsible for the legal proceedings, took action against the owners, including Malik Tariq, Qazi Naveed, Sharif Khan, Sajid Chaudhry, Sajid Munir, Sardar Maqsood Khan, Sardar Awais, Chaudhry Seemab, and Yaoob.
Prior to filing FIRs, the RDA issued notices to these illegal housing schemes. The authority emphasized that launching a housing scheme, apartment project, or commercial building within the controlled area of RDA without the required NoC and approval is illegal. Additionally, all advertisements, marketing, and development associated with such projects are deemed illegal.
The RDA spokesman warned citizens against investing in illegal housing projects and encouraged them to verify the status of projects on the official RDA website. The Director General instructed the MP&TE Directorate to take strict and unbiased action against illegal constructions, unauthorized housing schemes, commercial activities, booking offices, and encroachments. The crackdown underscores RDA’s commitment to curbing illegal developments and ensuring adherence to regulations within its jurisdiction.
