The UAE SWAT Challenge in Dubai is set to commence on February 3 at Al Ruwayyah’s Training City, featuring an increased prize fund of $260,000, up from $170,000. Hosted by the Dubai Police, this fifth edition spans February 3 to 7, with free admission for spectators. Attendees can also engage in their own SWAT-style competitions, explore a heritage village, and experience local outfits.
This year boasts a record 87 teams from 48 countries, including five all-women and two mixed teams. Teams vie for the grand prize of $80,000, with descending awards of $40,000, $30,000, and $15,000 for the top four. The remaining top 10 teams also secure cash prizes. Daily challenges offer additional rewards, with the first-place team earning $5,000.
The five challenges—Tactical competition, obstacle course, officer rescue, tower challenge, and assault competition—demand tactical skills, physical prowess, and proficiency. The Dubai Police have introduced a special e-sports tournament with ‘Counter Strike 2’ and ‘Valorant,’ featuring 40 players across eight teams and a Dh50,000 prize pool. Notably, eight new teams join this year’s largest-ever edition of the competition.
