Xiaomi plans to launch self-developed aka in-house chip series that will help improve imaging, charging speed, battery management, and communication features on its new generation of smartphones. The Imaging Chip Surge C4, Charging Chip Surge P3, and Battery Management Chip Surge G3, and the Communication Chip Surge “xx,” are expected to come in Xiaomi’s flagship devices.
Based on Chinese leaker Digital Chat Station, Xiaomi is entering the self-developed chip segment, speculations proposing the integration into Xiaomi 14 Ultra, slated to be unveiled soon. The Xiaomi 15 series, which is expected to go into mass production in September, may also use the new chips.
Details about the Xiaomi 15 series are scarce but it is believed to come equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chip. Leaks hint that the Pro model may feature slim bezels and a 2k 120hz LTPO display at 1400 nits brightness – which could save battery life by up to 15-20%. The screen-on time would remarkably increase as a result of the new battery management chip.
However, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra is reported to come with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, a curved-edge OLED display of 2K resolution and a quad-camera setup consisting of four lenses with each lens having a resolution of 50MP. Powered by an 5180 mAh battery that offers 90W wired and 80W wireless fast charging.
