Sindh Declares Public Holiday on February 8 for General Elections

The Government of Sindh has announced a public holiday on February 8, 2024, due to the General Elections.

In a notification issued by the Services, General Administration and Coordination Department, it was stated, “The Government of Sindh hereby declares 08th February, 2024 (Thursday) as Public Holiday throughout the Province of Sindh on the day of General Election 2024 to all Offices, Autonomous Bodies, Semi-Autonomous Bodies, Corporations, Local Councils & Private Organizations / Institutions in the Province of Sindh except essential services and the departments and officers / officials engaged in the election duties.”

It is pertinent to mention that Government of Sindh has also issued a notification for a public holiday on February 5 on the occasion of Kashmir Solidarity Day.

Meanwhile, the Government of Punjab has declared a week-long holiday for the General Elections 2024. According to a notification, all public and private schools in the province will remain closed from February 6th to February 9th, 2024.
