Last month, Samsung unveiled its first smart ring, the Galaxy Ring, creating anticipation despite the official launch being months away. Samsung’s Global Head of B2B Wearable/IoT/Accessory, Daniel Seung Lee, confirmed on LinkedIn that the health and wellness wearable is set to launch in the second half of the year.
This aligns with previous rumors and fits well with Samsung’s typical Galaxy Unpacked event timeline, often held in August, focusing on new-generation Galaxy Z Foldables, Tablets, and Watches. The Galaxy Ring’s presence at such an event would be consistent with Samsung’s strategy.
Recent developments include the spotting of the Samsung Galaxy Ring in the Good Lock app, indicating active development. The smart ring is rumored to come in sizes up to 13, emphasizing its lightweight design, and will be available in three finishes.
A teaser video has confirmed features such as a heart-rate monitor, support for Samsung Health, and pogo pins on the Galaxy Ring. With the official launch set for the second half of the year, Samsung’s foray into smart rings adds a new dimension to its wearable technology offerings.
