Weather Update for Lahore, Punjab on Thursday

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) anticipates predominantly cold and dry weather in Lahore, Punjab and most parts of Punjab on Thursday, which coincides with Election Day 2024. The synoptic situation indicates the prevalence of continental air across Pakistan.

In this weather pattern, Lahore and various parts of the province can expect cold and dry conditions on Wednesday night, Thursday (Election Day), and Friday. Freezing temperatures are likely in Murree, Galyat, and the surrounding areas, accompanied by cold winds in upper Punjab. Additionally, shallow fog may occur at isolated locations in Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, and Kasur during morning and night hours.

Specifically in Lahore, the minimum temperature is projected to range between 05-07 degrees Celsius on Thursday and 06-08 degrees Celsius on Friday.

Over the past 24 hours, most parts of the province experienced cold and dry weather, with freezing conditions in Murree, Galyat, and nearby regions. Isolated rain occurred in South Punjab, and shallow fog covered some plain areas of northeast Punjab.

Notable rainfall measurements include Bahawalpur (city 04, A/P 02), Multan (A/P 03, City 01), Dera Ghazi Khan 03, Khanewal, Rahim Yar Khan 02, and Karoor (Layyah), Khanpur 01.

Murree recorded the lowest temperature in the province, dropping to 03 degrees Celsius below freezing. The relative humidity during the evening was noted at 59 percent. In Lahore, the minimum temperature registered was 06 degrees Celsius, with a relative humidity of 46 percent during the evening.
