Interim Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar explained that the suspension of internet services was a response to security concerns, emphasizing that it should be understood in the same context. Supporting the decision, he noted the presence of a new wave of terrorism in the country.
When asked about the voter turnout, PM Kakar deemed it premature to make predictions, expressing hope for positive outcomes. He urged the public to actively exercise their right to franchise, underscoring the significance of participating in the electoral process.
Internet and mobile services were suspended around 7:30 pm across the country, which was just one hour before the start of voting at polling stations across the country.
PPP has spoken against the suspension and asked Chief Justice of Pakistan, Faez Isa, to take notice and urged immediate restoration.
