The Sharjah Cooperative Society has allocated Dh35 million for Ramadan 2024, with a primary focus on lowering prices for 10,000 essential food items. These items, including cooking oil, flour and rice, will have a price reduction by up to 75%, which will benefit shoppers at all 67 branches across the emirate. Moreover, the retailer will launch weekly offers beginning February 22 to give additional discounts on a variety of items beyond the 10,000 offered initially.
Sharjah Cooperative Society will hold a Ramadan campaign to involve customers with big prizes and charity activities. Shoppers spending Dh300 and above will have the opportunity to win two Suzuki Dzire cars each week, in addition to furniture and shopping gift cards valued at Dh5,000 and Dh1,000 each. Also, the society will provide three types of food baskets for donation costing between Dh99 and Dh399 to support those in need during the holy month. The distribution of these donated baskets will be done in partnership with Sharjah Charity.
In spite of global supply chain issues, CEO Majid Al Junaid guarantees customers of sufficient supply and affordable pricing of essential products in all branches. The society’s promise to keep prices at affordable levels is a response to the criticism of customers on the possibility of price increases during Ramadan. Similarly, the introduction of drive-through shopping options aims to ease traffic jams and deliver greater convenience to the shoppers, which is indicative of the society’s commitment to improving the overall shopping experience of its customers.
