Saudi Arabia has issued a warning to visitors or residents to make sure they have all the permits before participating in the 2024 Hajj season. In order to reinforce compliance and deter intended infractions, severe penalties have been adopted.
Saudi authorities, including the General Directorate of Passports, imposed heavy fines and penalties for individuals found violating the Hajj regulations. The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has highlighted the performing Hajj without the necessary permits is not allowed, and a penalty worth 50,000 Saudi riyals will be imposed.
In addition to this, those who are caught transporting pilgrims without authorization will also be fined up to SAR 50,000. If Foreign nationals are caught violating any rules, they will be jailed for six months and later deported, and banned from Saudi Arabia for 10 years.
Furthermore, those found violating regulations will be subjected to public censure through various media channels.
