The ninth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL 9) continues, featuring a match between Lahore Qalandars and Karachi Kings at Qaddafi Stadium today. Karachi Kings emerged victorious, winning the game by 2 wickets with no balls left.
Karachi won the toss and chose to bowl first, giving Lahore Qalandars the opportunity to set a target of 176 runs. Despite losing an early wicket with Fakhar Zaman out for just 6 runs, Sahibzada Farhan’s strong performance of 72 runs from 45 balls helped compensate for the setback.
Rassie van der Dussen added 26 runs from 23 balls, but Lahore Qalandars struggled to maintain momentum, losing wickets regularly with most batsmen failing to reach double digits, except for Shai Hope and George Linde, who scored 21 and 26 runs respectively.
Despite a shaky start and losing wickets at regular intervals, Karachi Kings managed to secure victory. Shan Masood (10), Muhammad Akhlaq (7), and James Vince (8) were dismissed early.
Shoaib Malik contributed 39 runs, while Kieron Pollard’s 58 runs were crucial in Karachi Kings’ comeback. However, Mohammad Nawaz was dismissed for just 15 runs, and the lower-order batsmen faced similar challenges, but Karachi Kings ultimately emerged victorious.
