The Dubai Police has initiated a ‘Sport for Support’ Ramadan charity drive with the goal of raising Dh3 million. This fundraising effort aims to support various projects, including charitable endowments, family support initiatives, medical assistance, mosque construction, Quran purchases, water well construction, and provision of water tanks.
The campaign intends to engage over 100,000 individuals through sports activities during Ramadan, beginning around March 11 this year. Partnering with organizations like the Dar Al Ber Society, Dubai Economy and Tourism, and Dubai Sports Council, the campaign offers participants the opportunity to contribute through Dar Al Ber platforms at sporting events or via a dedicated online link.
During a recent press conference held at the Dubai Police General HQ, the Athletes Council announced the launch of the campaign, attended by prominent figures such as Dr. Maryam Anas Al Matroushi, Captain Ahmad bin Thabou Al Falasi, and representatives from Dar Al Ber, Al Wasl Club, and Fitness Time Gym. The ‘Sport for Support’ initiative will encompass various programs throughout Ramadan, including ‘Iftar with Leaders’, where participants can interact with Dubai Police leaders and esteemed guests while engaging in sports activities followed by iftar. Additionally, the campaign will be featured at the ADNOC Professional League, NAS sports tournament, and the Dubai World Cup, emphasizing the importance of sports, promoting charity work, and raising awareness about health and fitness in the community.
