Due to the expected heavy rain, the government of Sindh decided to close all schools in the province for Friday. This decision was made in response to warnings from the Pakistan Meteorological Department about bad weather, including rain, strong winds, and possibly hailstorms, from February 29 to March 2.
The Sindh School Education and Literacy Department officially announced the cancellation of evening classes in both public and private schools to ensure the safety of students and staff during the expected harsh weather.
Apart from shutting down schools, the Sindh government declared a rain emergency across the province. Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab Siddiqui emphasized the need for caution and revealed that offices in Karachi would only operate for half-day on Friday to reduce risks and inconvenience for residents.
Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah led a meeting to tackle the upcoming weather challenges and activated a detailed rain emergency plan. Local authorities, administrations, and hospitals are on high alert to handle any emergencies effectively.
