Dubai Police revealed plans for Ramadan cannon firing at seven fixed locations and a mobile cannon visiting 13 areas. The main cannon will be stationed at Expo Dubai, with others at Damac Hills, Vida Creek Harbour, Burj Khalifa, Mirdif Downtown, Festival City, and Hatta Guest House. Each cannon will be manned by a crew dressed in historic Dubai Police uniforms.
The mobile cannon will spend two days at each of its stops, beginning at Al Satwa Big Mosque and traveling to various locations, including Burj Khalifa, Nad Al Sheba, Al Ghaf Walk, Umm Suqeim Majlis, Zabeel Park, Dubai Creek Harbour, Hatta, Al Khawaneej Majlis, and Festival City, ending at Dubai International Financial Centre. The cannon firings will be broadcast live on Dubai TV during iftar time daily.
Dubai Police will use British-made PDR MK1L Cannons from 1945, weighing 25 pounds and producing sound up to 170 decibels, audible from up to 10km away. Additionally, vintage French cannons from the 1960s will be placed at Damac Hills and Festival City.
Moreover, the second edition of Hai Ramadan, highlighting Emirati traditions and heritage, was announced, featuring interactive experiences and entertainment for children, including popular cartoon characters like Al Mandous Carnival.
