The Sindh government has taken steps to adjust office timings ahead of Ramadan, which is expected to commence from March 12, aiming to accommodate the needs of both the observance of Ramadan and the continuation of governmental functions.
Issuing a notification today, the provincial government’s Services, General Administration, and Coordination Department has unveiled the revised office hours.
During Ramadan, government offices will adhere to varying schedules depending on whether they operate five or six days a week. For those offices operating on a five-day basis, working hours will be from 10 am to 4 pm from Monday to Thursday, with a shortened schedule of 10 am to 1 pm on Fridays.
Moreover, for offices operating six days a week, office timings during Ramadan will be from 10 am to 3 pm on Monday to Thursday and Saturday, with Fridays observing a schedule of 10 am to 1 pm.
These adjusted timings will ensure proper functioning of all departments while allowing employees to take advantage of shorter working hours to focus on their religious obligations during the holy month.
It is pertinent to mention that the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee (RHC) is scheduled to meet on March 11 for the Ramadan moon sighting, which is just a few days away. According to weather expert Jawad Memon, the moon for the holy month of Ramadan will be visible on March 11.
