The National Institute of Electronics (NIE) Pakistan, a distinguished subsidiary operating under the auspices of the Ministry of Science and Technology, has achieved a remarkable feat by transforming an 800cc fuel-powered automobile into an innovative electric vehicle (EV).
Unveiled to the public with great anticipation at the esteemed Allama Iqbal Open University during a recent exposition, this electric car represents a pioneering advancement in sustainable transportation technology. It proudly boasts a robust 10-kilowatt motor, meticulously powered by an advanced battery system, promising a cleaner, more energy-efficient mode of transportation.
The visionary leadership of General Director Zawar Hussain on the other hand showcases the institute’s consistent dedication in exploring the limits of technological growth. Even though numerous and time-consuming research efforts as well as physical hands-on activities are still required to achieve the goal, NIE will remain focused on the mission to make the electric vehicle project a reality.
Meanwhile, the motor industry of Pakistan, which is vital for assembling and distribution of vehicles in the country, is facing a lot of challenges recently. According to the details, sales in the manufacturing sector dropped by 49 percent during the past 7 months, with local automobile assembly being a particular area of concern
Under all these hindrances, the initiatives of National Institute of Electronics (NIE), which are transformative in nature, become an epitome of hope for the better future of eco-friendly automobiles not only in Pakistan but across world. NIE does this by transforming diesel and gasoline driven vehicles into eco-friendly electric versions – an innovative way of addressing the environmental effect and creating a greener, more sustainable future for all generations.
