Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif recently chaired a meeting to discuss the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) and the Ramazan Relief Package. The meeting also highlighted that over 39.6 million families s would benefit from the Ramazan Relief Package, which is offering discounted prices of basic commodities for a total subsidy of Rs. 7.5 billion in order to counter the effects of the country’s high inflation rate. The Ramadan Relief Package includes 19 essential food items, including such as flour, pulses, and sugar.
The officials present at the meeting also discussed issues regarding registration of people in the Benazir Income Support Program and introduced a new integrated system to handle complaints and ensure quick resolution.
