The Ramadan 2024 crescent moon was sighted in Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates (UAE), and other Middle Eastern countries on Sunday (March 10), marking the beginning of the holy month on Monday (March 11).
The announcement was confirmed by the social media handle for news and announcements related to the two holy mosques, the Grand Mosque in Makkah and the Prophet’s (PBUH) Mosque in Medina.

Furthermore, the Saudi Supreme Court also announced the sighting of the crescent moon for the new lunar month on Sunday.
However, Oman has declared Tuesday to be the first day of the holy month of Ramadan.
Ramadan, like other Islamic months, lasts 29 or 30 days, depending on the sighting of the crescent moon. Therefore, the month of Ramadan will be 29 days or 30 days this year, ending on April 8 or 9 (Monday or Tuesday).
