PSL 9: Islamabad United vs Quetta Gladiators Play-off Highlights

In the Pakistan Super League 2024 (PSL 9), Islamabad United faced off against Quetta Gladiators in the second play-off match. Islamabad United won the match by 39 runs as Quetta Gladiators couldn’t reach their target score.

Islamabad United won the coin toss and chose to bat first, setting a fair target of 175 runs for Quetta Gladiators.

For Islamabad United, Martin Guptill scored 56 runs from 47 balls, while Alex Hales made 23 runs from 20 balls. Additionally, Salman Ali Agha scored 31 runs, Shadab Khan got 23 runs, and Azam Khan made 18 runs.

Quetta Gladiators’ bowlers Mohammad Amir and Akeal Hosein took two wickets each, while Mohammad Wasim Jr and Abrar Ahmed got one wicket each.

During the second half, Quetta Gladiators had a tough start with Jason Roy and Saud Shakeel dismissed for just 1 and 0 runs respectively. Omair Yousuf played well, scoring 50 runs from 37 balls. But despite efforts from Akeal Hosein (31 runs) and Mohammad Amir (23 runs), Quetta Gladiators couldn’t keep up with the required run rate, losing by 39 runs in the end.
