Due to a worsening safety situation, authorities in Karachi’s South District have banned the use of drone cameras or any type of remote-controlled planes. The ban will be in place from March 30 to May 29, according to a notice issued today. The decision was made in response to recent terrorist attacks across Pakistan.
Commissioner Karachi explained that the ban aims to safeguard the Chinese consulate and other important sites. This action follows the tragic death of five Chinese nationals in a suicide bombing at the Dasu dam project in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Shangla district. The attack also claimed the life of one Pakistani, the bus driver, when a bomber targeted the bus transporting project staff.
The Prime Minister and his cabinet visited the Chinese embassy to express condolences and assure Beijing of a thorough investigation into the bombing. The Prime Minister conveyed his condolences to the Chinese president, premier, and the families of the victims.
He promised to investigate the incident thoroughly, emphasizing the importance of the Pak-China friendship and the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor. The Chinese ambassador appreciated the visit and the government’s commitment to investigating the attack. The Interior Minister also pledged a comprehensive investigation.
