MG Motor India has launched the MG Hector Blackstorm Edition on Wednesday (April 10), joining its fellow SUVs, the MG Astor and MG Gloster, which already offer this variant.
MG Hector Blackstorm Edition Price in India
The price of the MG Hector is between Rs 21.25 lakh and Rs 22.76 lakh (ex-showroom) depending on the variant and it is one of the key models for the brand in the Indian automotive market. Despite its larger size, it competes closely with popular SUVs like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, and Tata Harrier in terms of pricing.

Interior and Exterior
The new MG Hector Blackstorm edition will feature striking red accents both inside and outside the vehicle. Notable additions include LED headlamps and taillamps, a sleek blacked-out grille and alloy wheels, and an all-black interior with red-accented upholstery. It will also come equipped with a touchscreen infotainment system, digital instrument panel, and a panoramic sunroof.
Engine and Transmission
The Hector offers two engine options: a 1.5-liter turbo-petrol engine delivering 143PS of power and 250Nm of torque, and a 2.0-liter diesel engine producing 170PS of power and 350Nm of torque. The petrol variant is available with either a 6-speed manual transmission or a CVT automatic, while the diesel variant is offered solely with a 6-speed manual transmission.

MG Motor India’s Growing Market
MG Motor India has seen growth in its domestic market share, increasing from 1.15% in FY23 to 1.26% in FY24, according to data from the Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA). The carmaker’s retail sales also surged by 18.82% year-on-year, reaching 49,737 units in the last fiscal year.
Alternate Options
In addition to the Astor, Hector, and Gloster SUVs, MG Motor India offers electric vehicle options such as the Comet EV and the ZS EV. Among these offerings, the Hector stands out as the highest-selling model and was the first vehicle introduced by MG in India.
