With passport applications surging, many face long waits at offices, and even urgent renewals are taking months. To help navigate this challenge, a member (Syed Khizer Tahir Naqvi) of the Facebook group “Voice of Customer” shared a successful experience using the Passport Fee Asaan App for a quick and hassle-free passport renewal.
This guide details the exact steps the original poster (OP) followed, outlining how you can leverage the app to streamline your own passport renewal process. Before getting started, it must be mentioned that the OP applied for a 36-page passport with 10 years of validity, paying Rs. 12,500 for it. However, your fee will depend on the selected passport type.
Save Time and Money with the Passport Fee Asaan App
First, the OP used the Passport Fee Asaan App to pay the fee online. This saved me a ton of time waiting in line and avoided any extra charges to agents. Here’s a quick guide on how to use the app:
- Download the App: Search for “Passport Fee Asaan” on the Google Play Store or App Store.
- Log In: Create an account using your personal details.
- New Passport Request: Select “passport epayment” and fill in the information:
- Your Name
- CNIC Number
- Desired Passport Validity (10 years or less)
- Service Type (Normal, Urgent, or Fast Track)
- Preferred Passport Office
Easy Payment with PSID Code
- PSID Code: The app will generate a unique PSID code for your payment. Save this code.
- Make Payment: Use your bank’s mobile app or services like JazzCash/EasyPaisa. Choose “Link 1 Bill” and enter the PSID code (without the last six digits – 999999). Complete the payment.
- Confirm Payment: Go back to the Passport Fee Asaan App and check the payment status. Click on “Check Status” and enter your PSID (minus the last six digits). Once it shows “Paid,” download the receipt.
Passport Office Visit: Be Prepared!
- Gather Documents: With the payment receipt and a copy of your CNIC (and for extra caution, a copy of your parent’s CNIC), head to your chosen passport office.
- Skip The Queue (Optional): Here’s a hack! Especially for the Saddar Passport Office in Karachi, go on a Friday morning around 8:30 a.m. The staff usually arrives at 9 AM, and you might be able to get everything done within 30 minutes before the crowds arrive.
- Final Steps: Once at the office, obtain a token and complete the required process. They will guide you through everything.
Collect your new passport! You’ll receive a notification once your passport is ready for pickup. Typically, it takes about two days after notification.
