Diesel and petrol prices in Pakistan are likely to see a reduction of Rs. 5 per litre for the upcoming fortnight, starting June 1, 2024.
According to reports, the price of petrol is likely to go down by Rs. 5 per litre, while the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) might see a reduction of Rs. 4 per litre.
The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) will forward its summary to the Finance Division on May 31, and the final decision will be announced by midnight after consultation with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
This will be the third consecutive reduction in diesel and petrol prices, if approved by the Prime Minister.
It is pertinent to mention that prices of diesel and petrol are revised every 15 days depending on changes in global oil prices and Pakistani Rupee’s exchange rate against the US Dollar.
During the last fortnight, the government announced a massive cut of Rs. 15.39 per litre in the price of petrol and Rs. 7.88 in the price of high-speed diesel (HSD).
