Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur on Wednesday inaugurated three new housing schemes under the Provincial Housing Authority (PHA). The new projects are named Hangu Township, Dangram Housing Scheme in Swat, and Mega City in Nowshera and aim to provide better and more affordable residential facilities to the public.
The launch ceremony took place at the Chief Minister’s House in Peshawar, attended by notable figures such as Special Assistant to CM Dr. Amjad Ali, Member of National Assembly (MNA) Amjad Khan, Member of Provincial Assembly (MPA) Mian Sharafat Ali, and other senior officials.
The details of the schemes are as follows:
- Hangu Township: This project spans 8,362 kanals of land and will feature 10,162 commercial and residential plots of various sizes.
- Dangram Housing Scheme: Covering 501 kanals, this scheme will offer 682 commercial and residential plots.
- Mega City, Nowshera: Based on 1,750 kanals, this development will provide 3,500 plots, both commercial and residential.
Collectively, these housing schemes are estimated to cost Rs. 21 billion.
In his address, Chief Minister Gandapur emphasized the government’s responsibility to provide affordable housing to the public. He noted that these projects are being developed through public-private partnerships to meet the housing needs of the region.
Furthermore, Gandapur announced that plots of five marlas will be given free of cost to the families of government officials and personnel of various forces who have lost their lives in the line of duty. He also revealed that new housing schemes worth Rs. 85 billion are planned, which will not only address housing shortages but also create employment opportunities.
The Chief Minister highlighted the government’s progress in planning various sectors capable of generating revenue for the province. He welcomed both local and foreign investment in sectors such as mining, energy, tourism, and housing, and assured that the government would provide comprehensive support to investors through its ease-of-doing-business policies.
