Punjab University (PU) commenced interviews for Higher Education Commission (HEC) need-based scholarships on Friday to support deserving students with financial aid.
The interview process was overseen by PU Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Khalid Mahmood, who was joined by Director of Planning and Development, Prof. Dr. Hafiz Anwaar, renowned social activist Raja Munawar, and members of the Treasurer’s office.
In his address, Prof. Dr. Khalid Mahmood emphasized PU’s commitment to supporting students in need, ensuring they can continue their higher education despite financial challenges. He noted that PU graduates are making significant contributions globally, highlighting that the university’s education-friendly policies have earned it the title of the most-improved university in Asia by QS rankings.
The interviews aimed to identify and assist students from various departments who require financial support.
Additionally, on Friday, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between Punjab University and Lahore LEADS University (LLU) in a ceremony held at the PU Vice Chancellor’s committee room.
The event was attended by PU VC Prof. Dr. Khalid Mahmood, LLU VC Prof. Dr. Nadeem Bhatti, and other officials. The MoU aims to foster academic and research collaboration between the two institutions.
