Pakistan Railways has announced a special summer vacation train service running from Karachi to Rawalpindi. This service will start on July 5 and continue until July 30.
The summer vacation train will leave Karachi at 8:45 pm, reach Lahore by 3:40 pm the next day, and arrive in Rawalpindi at 10:00 pm.
On the return trip, the train will depart Rawalpindi at 12:30 pm, stop in Lahore at 6:00 pm, and finally reach Karachi at 2:15 pm the following day.
This service aims to make travel easier for families and individuals planning their vacations during the summer break.
It is pertinent to mention that Pakistan Railways also announced the introduction of air-conditioned restrooms at Lahore Railway Station.
A spokesperson stated that these restrooms are equipped with hand sanitizers, hand dryers, geysers for hot water in winter, shampoo, clean towels, and diaper changing stations.
He added that these facilities would be extended to thirteen more stations across the country within the next three months.
These restrooms, developed through a public-private partnership, will be accessible for a uniform fee of Rs 50.
