Elon Musk, the billionaire CEO of Tesla, has openly endorsed President Donald Trump. In a social media on X post on Saturday, Musk stated, “I fully endorse President Trump and hope for his rapid recovery.” This endorsement comes at a tumultuous time for Trump, who experienced a frightening incident during a rally in Pennsylvania.
Earlier on Saturday, Donald Trump’s rally in Pennsylvania took a dramatic turn when multiple loud bangs, resembling gunshots, echoed through the venue. Video footage showed the Republican presidential candidate grimacing and raising his right hand to his ear as the sounds rang out.
The Secret Service quickly intervened, rushing Trump off the stage. “The Secret Service has implemented protective measures, and the former President is safe,” said Anthony Guglielmi, the communications chief for the Secret Service, on X. He confirmed that an active investigation is underway and promised further information when available.
Witnesses described the chaotic scene. John Yeykal from Franklin, Pennsylvania, attending his first Trump rally, said, “We saw a lot of people go down, looking confused. I heard the shots; it sounded like between firecrackers and a small caliber handgun.”
Amid the confusion, Trump was seen with blood on his right ear as security agents surrounded him and escorted him to safety. He pumped his fist to the crowd before being bundled into an SUV and driven away.
The incident has turned the rally venue into an active crime scene. Secret Service officers instructed reporters to leave the area, emphasizing the seriousness of the situation. The endorsement by Elon Musk adds a significant layer to the unfolding events, highlighting the intersection of high-profile political endorsements and unexpected security threats.
