LAHORE: In an effort to improve mass transportation infrastructure, the Punjab government has approved the inauguration of a tram service in Lahore.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif approved the project during a recent visit to the Lahore Development Authority’s (LDA) headquarters.
Lahore Tram Service Details:
Ticket Prices: The ticket prices will be revealed post-launch.
- Project Initiation: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has begun work on the project.
- Route Length: The tram route will cover 11 kilometers.
- Number of Stops: There will be ten stops, spaced approximately 1 kilometer apart.
- Design Inspiration: The LDA is inspired by current tram models in Finland and China.
- Projected Cost: The project is estimated to cost Rs27 billion.

- Main Boulevard from Kalma Chowk
- Liberty
- Main Market
- Mini Market
- Hali Road
Road Modifications:
- MM Alam Road will be turned into a one-way street to accommodate the tram route.
- The re-modeling and beautification project has been approved by the chief minister.
- Special Stop: A stop within Gaddafi Stadium will make the tram service convenient for sports enthusiasts and event-goers.
