Islamabad – 3rd August 2024: The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has issued a clarification in response to recent media reports alleging that the PTA is blocking VPN services.
The PTA firmly states that no such actions have been taken. All forms of blocking are conducted solely under the directives of the government of Pakistan and adhere strictly to legal frameworks and guidelines.
The PTA emphasized that the smooth and secure operation of IT services and online businesses is a priority. To facilitate this, VPNs are being whitelisted through an automated process available on the PTA and Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB) websites.
For more information and to access the automated whitelisting process, visit PTA and PSEB websites.
