The Government of Sindh has issued a circular directing all offices under its administrative control to stop using disposable plastic mineral water bottles. This decision follows concerns raised by the Chief Minister of Sindh during a Cabinet meeting held on August 15, 2024, regarding the environmental impact of plastic waste.
According to the circular, the use of plastic bottles will be replaced with jugs and glasses, effective immediately across all relevant offices. The move aims to reduce plastic waste and promote sustainable practices within the government.
The directive has been circulated to administrative secretaries, commissioners, chairpersons, and other key officials for immediate implementation. This action marks a notable effort by the Sindh government to address environmental issues in the province.
