Islamabad’s Red Zone has been sealed off with containers today as the Utility Stores Employees Union stages a nationwide strike and protests in the capital.
This action follows the government’s controversial decision to shut down utility stores and eliminate subsidies, sparking widespread unrest among employees.
In a related development, authorities officially announced the closure of the Islamabad-Rawalpindi Metro Bus service. However, as of the 8 AM report, the metro is operational between IJP and Pak Secretariat, while the route from Saddar to IJP remains closed.
