ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has declared a nationwide protest on Friday 18, October 2024, against proposed constitutional amendments and what it describes as mistreatment of its founder, Imran Khan. During a political committee meeting led by Barrister Gohar, PTI announced plans to mobilize all regional and local units to stage peaceful demonstrations at district headquarters following Friday prayers.
In a statement, PTI warned that any attempt to alter the constitution would be met with strong resistance. The party urged citizens who believe in upholding the constitution to join the protests. Additionally, PTI vowed to block the amendments in Parliament and called for the immediate release of detained leaders, including Imran Khan’s family members and party officials.
The party also demanded the restoration of Imran Khan’s basic rights, including access to his family and legal counsel.
