The Government of Sindh has officially declared Saturday, November 9, 2024, as a public holiday across the province in observance of Allama Iqbal Day. This holiday will apply to all government offices, autonomous bodies, semi-autonomous organizations, corporations, and local councils operating under the administrative control of the Sindh government, with the exception of essential services.
The notification was issued by the Sindh Services, General Administration, and Coordination Department, signed by Asif Hyder Shah, the Chief Secretary of Sindh. The directive has been communicated to relevant authorities, including the Deputy Commissioners, Board of Revenue members, and various administrative bodies, to ensure compliance with the public holiday.
This holiday marks the contributions of Allama Iqbal, the renowned philosopher, poet, and national figure, commemorating his legacy and influence in the formation of Pakistan.
