Authorities have imposed a health emergency in Lahore and Multan in response to rising concerns about public health. Several measures have been announced to manage the situation effectively:
- Extended OPD Hours: Outpatient departments (OPDs) in hospitals will now operate until 8:00 PM to accommodate more patients.
- Schools Closed: All schools in Lahore and Multan will remain closed for another week to ensure the safety of students and staff.
- Restaurant Timings: Restaurants are permitted to operate until 4:00 PM, while takeaway services will be allowed until 8:00 PM.
- Lockdown Announcement: A complete lockdown will be enforced in both cities on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
Residents are urged to follow these guidelines and cooperate with authorities to safeguard public health during this challenging time.
Meanwhile, in the morning hours Multan has surpassed Lahore to record the worst air quality levels in Pakistan. Earlier this morning, Lahore had the highest Air Quality Index (AQI) among major cities, but Multan has now taken the lead, reflecting significant pollution levels across the region.
