As of 6:00 AM this morning, Lahore’s Air Quality Index (AQI) has dropped to an average of 438, a notable improvement from its hazardous levels of 800+ recorded earlier.
Despite the decline, Lahore’s air quality remains firmly in the “unhealthy” category, with smog persisting and likely to linger until the next significant rainfall event.

In contrast, Islamabad has regained its clean air status, boasting an average AQI of 67, which falls within the “healthy” range.
The stark difference in air quality between the two cities highlights the ongoing air pollution challenges in Lahore.
Residents are advised to take precautions, such as wearing masks and limiting outdoor activities during high pollution hours, to minimize health risks.
