The tea seller from Islamabad, Arshad Khan, who became an Internet sensation as “Chaiwala” is now facing trouble with official documentation according to the NADRA.
According to the NADRA, Arshad Khan’s documents are suspicious and have been blocked by the authority for further investigation as he fails to provide the proof of Pakistani citizenship.
The government of Pakistan is currently scrutinizing the documentation of suspicious individuals, especially those with Afghan backgrounds residing in Pakistan. In the past, NADRA has caught several officials for issuing ID cards to Afghans, and now Arshad Khan, the “Chaiwala,” seems to be in trouble because of this.
According to NADRA records, Chaiwala is said to have been born in Mardan, KPK. However, NADRA couldn’t trace his family roots, and the authorities have blocked the CNIC and passport of the internet sweetheart, Until he provides the proof.
