Karachi: Pakistan Railways (PR) is about to start a mega, actually super mega project, in the port city, says Federal Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique.
“PR will execute the mega project of Karachi Circular Railways with the financial assistance of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA),” he said while addressing Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), the representative body of traders in Karachi.
JICA has promised Rs. 250 billion loan for the project, which has been in dormant for a decade or more. The project will facilitate millions of commuters of the largest city of the country, who, otherwise, have to face humiliation while traveling around.
The minister was of the view stakeholders of the project including Sindh government and major parties of metropolitan would be taken into account before the initiation.
