ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif while reiterating that country’s nuclear assets are in safe hands said Wednesday nuclear technology will be used for power generation and social uplift.

In a message to the nation on the occasion of 16th Youm e Takbeer which marks May 28, 1998 when Pakistan carried out six nuclear tests, the prime minister congratulated the nation on the 16th anniversary. He said that nuclear arsenal is in safe hands, adding nuclear weapons have made Pakistan’s defence impregnable.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif reiterated that Islamabad is committed to use nuclear technology for peaceful purposes as per the international laws, adding this technology is being used in various sectors of the economy for social uplift of the people.
