SEO stands for “search engine optimization.” It is the process of getting traffic from the “free,” “organic,” “editorial” or “natural” search results on search engines.
The Definition
Search engine optimization (SEO) is the practice of manipulating aspects of a Web site to improve its ranking in search engines. Various approaches are taken to achieve that goal, such as submitting the Web site to directory services, and addressing Web site architecture and content. All major search engines such as Google, Bing and Yahoo have primary search results, where web pages and other content such as videos or local listings are shown and ranked based on what the search engine considers most relevant to users, Without Paying a dime.
The importance of SEO will alway matter because the competition is getting higher day by day, daily new millions of Posts are being uploaded but keep in mind that Quality matters not the quantity, It helps you rank your blog / website content so you have to understand and practice different techniques to get the optimum result, There are two types of SEO Factors ” On Page SEO and “ Off Page SEO “
On Page SEO
On-Page search ranking factors are those that are almost entirely within the publisher’s own control. What type of content do you publish? Keeping Relevant content keywords and Keyword density on the page / post, You have to ensure Are you providing important HTML clues that help search engines (and users) determine relevancy? How does your site architecture help or hinder search engines?
It may all sound difficult or out of this world but On Page SEO completely depends on you and Off Page on the search Engine, below I have given the example of the On-page SEO Check List, so that you can understand easily.
On-page SEO Checklist
- Content is high-quality, relevant, fresh and at least 350 to 500 words in length.
The Content which you publish matters the post, Instead of copy-paste try writing in your own words it will help your blog / website to gain more attention. However, things like Technical Specification, News from Source can be published as they are however presentation matters adding a paragraph. Make it personalized as much as possible.
- Target search phrase / keyword is included in page headline. ( Title Matters the post and Red Marked is Keyword )
What Is SEO and Why It’s Important?
- Target search phrase / Keyword is included in at least one sub-headline. ( Sub Headline or H2 )
SEO stands for “search engine optimization.”
- Target search phrase / Keyword is repeated three to 10 times within body copy. Don’t over-do it, or the page may get downgraded as spam.
Don’t spam up the search phrase / keyword more than 10 times, If you post is lengthy then you may otherwise try to keep it in some ethical manners otherwise Search Engine will consider it Spammed and your post won’t be appearing in search result.
- Page includes relevant images and/or graphics that help illustrate the target search phrase.
Images play vital role, Not just illustrating and explaining but driving Traffic from Google Images, The Search Phrase / Keyword mentioned behind the Image is important see figure below
These attributes exists behind any image ( Title , Caption , Alt Text and Description ) as I mentioned earlier Images play the vital role, So never ignore the Title and ALT Text, Keyword should be mentioned there as it appearing in the title of the post.
- Content and/or tools and resources on the page are so good that visitors will want to share your link with others and post your link elsewhere by Placing the Share buttons on the page / post helps visitors to spread your content on various social platforms.
- Avoid misspellings or poor grammar.
Avoid Grammar mistakes as much as possible, There are ways to avoid such mistakes.
- Inclusion of social media links and / or user discussion or reviews. Pages with active visitor interaction are scored higher than static pages.
Adding High PR ( Page Ranking ) websites in your post to make it more defining helps alot, visitors and Search Engine gives more preference.
Off Page SEO
Off-Page ranking factors are those that publishers do not directly control. Search engines use these because they learned early on that relying on publisher-controlled signals alone didn’t always yield the best results. For instance, some publishers may try to make themselves seem more relevant than they are in reality.
Most of the traffic comes from Google like any other search engine Google Crawler is a generic term for any program (such as a robot or spider) used to automatically discover and scan websites by following links from one webpage to another. Google’s main crawler is called Googlebot.
