The Most anticipated smartphone by Infinix Mobility “Infinix Note 2 X600” (the successor of the Infinix Hot Note), finally landed in Pakistan on January 3rd, 2015. This latest Beast is the third model in Note series and apparently more modern and beautiful than its predecessors. Infinix Note 2 obviously is a very robust and well-built device with some impressive specs, and will definitely pose a serious threat to other competing and market dominating Brands. So, let’s have a review of this new pounder by Infinix.
Infinix Note 2
Design
Infinix Note 2 is indeed Big 6! Stylish, beautiful, lenient, and smooth shaped smartphone with a glossy modern textured back. Although it’s wider in size but still has a better grip in the hand and looks very satisfying and sensational that won’t make you feel uneasy. At top there is a sensor with the earpiece and the 2MP selfie cam on the front screen. On the back, you have rear 13 MP whooping Snapper with LED Flash at the center and speaker is at the bottom. Rest of the design is pretty much like Infinix Hot Note.
I don’t think any eye can resist the gleam and splashy vibrance of the well-polished and textured finish back cover and its curved shape which might apparently make the smart phone bulky, but this bulky size of Infinix Note 2 rather dictates every other physical feature on this decker device. However, its rear camera is bulgy making it susceptible to scratch or dent.
Display & User Interface:
Infinix Note 2 has a very bright 6.0 inches IPS HD LCD with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels. Any Hote Note User can easily identify the improved and Huge display screen and the widescreen will surely attract gamers and those who watch movies because it offers an apparent and cost effective advantage. Its visibility outdoors is quite good and you won’t miss a thing while at it.
The new user interface XUI (Which all Infinix user are aware of) is cool, smooth and simple with nice wall papers and quotes that change randomly as the phone turns on from sleep mode. And that too is backed by Android lollipop 5.1 which performs basic Android specific optimization to increase overall performance and then onwards it is supported by frequent updates (the extraordinary support by Infinix mobility) almost every month, even the first update comes right after you connect your Infinix Note 2 to the internet for the very first time!
Chipset:
This 6” Bulk features a MediaTek chipset MT-6753 with 1.3 GHz Octa-core processing speed beefed up with 8 cores running at 64-Bit, which is actually more than sufficient to handle such a wide screen and latest bit crunching and resource hungry games and apps.
While testing the Infinix Note 2 with Antutu, the score obtained by Infinix Note 2 comes out to be about 37100 which is a better and satisfactory score for a mid range smartphone, if not impressive.
Camera:
Infinix Note 2’s Camera is pitched at 13 MP and PDAF technology with an optimized Samsung’s S5K3M2 ISO CELL CMOS light sensor. The camera is well optimized to allow more light in order to produce better pictures under low light. The performance of the 2MP front camera is also amazing in full light or day light, yet still you can take good selfies in bright day light and also the wide angle feature allows more people into the frame when taking groupies.
Both front and rear cameras on the Infinix Note 2 are at par and nothing less than Amazing, given the price range, and apparently better than its predecessors ‘Hot Note’.
Battery Life & Charging:
Infinix Note 2 Packs a Hercules Battery of 4040 mah and honestly its overall performance is a Pure Wow! And its uptime cycle is exactly like Hot Note (i-e 2 Days or maybe a bit more but never less) even with bigger, brighter, and bolder display of 6”. What’s even more exciting that the 4.5x flash charge feature is even faster than its predecessor (Hot Note) and visibly has 40% increase of Charge efficiency than Hot Note. Honestly, you won’t get this kind of battery life with such super-fast charging speed anywhere else amongst devices in its price range, or even a tier higher.
Pros & Cons:
Pros:
- 6“ HD Display
- 4G connectivity
- Hercules Battery 4040 mah
- 2GB RAM + 16 GB Storage + Card Slot
- Appealing Front & Rear capturing devices with different modes
- Phone loud Speaker quality is very good and far better than Infinix Hot Note
Cons:
- Back cover is stylish and cool but eventually is made of plastic, thus vulnerable
- Not Pocket Friendly Screen Size
- Chromium like coating on the camera rim can peel off or get scratched or dented
- Surprisingly, NO Hands Free or Earphones!
Conclusion:
To sum it all up, the Infinix Note 2 is nothing less than a beast captured in this stylish bulky body and will definitely caters to the large number of masses specially those who crave smartphones for games and movies, huge battery life, fastest charging, and very good camera results. However, If only the price would have been 16,000 instead of 17,000 then Infinix Note 2 would have been a Death Warrant to all leading smartphone brands in Pakistan, even then one can simply say that, ‘Infinix Note 2 is the best phablet in the market’!
