Everyone desires high-definition streaming quality, and the current options include PTCL Smart TV box & App, Cable TV, DishTV, Free-to-Air channels, or Android TV box.
We conducted a survey on INCPak Forum to determine how much Pakistanis pay monthly for Cable TV. Surprisingly, Lahore and Islamabad have the highest Cable TV rates. PEMRA hasn’t set any tariffs; cable operators decide charges based on locality. According to our survey, 85% of Pakistanis pay Rs.250 to Rs.300 for regular cable TV, while Digital HD cable costs above Rs.1000.
PTCL Smart TV is a reliable choice, offering Video On Demand (VoD) option. PTCL phone and broadband users can subscribe for Rs.499 monthly, added to the PTCL bill. If you have a 4mb unlimited broadband connection, you only pay Rs.4999 one-time for the Smart TV device, or Rs.299 monthly for 24 months. Dish antenna options like DishTV, AsiaSat, PakSat, etc., vary in cost (Rs.5000 to Rs.15,000) depending on the number of satellites and channels.
Alternatively, Android TV boxes from online shopping sites offer combo deals (Free TV channels + Android device). They transform your TV into a tablet without a SIM card. Prices range from Rs.4500 to Rs.10500, with 4mb+ Unlimited Bandwidth Internet required.
H96 Ultra HD TV Box is a powerful option, but limited volume internet isn’t recommended. For Android TV boxes, PTCL, StormFibre, Fibrelink, Wateen, WorldCall, Connect, and local cable net providers offer suitable internet options. Live TV Net app provides 200+ channels, and Pocket TV and Kodi offer 7500+ channels.
For Smart TV owners, simply download the Live TV app for free HD streaming channels. Join the INCPak Forum on Facebook to discuss available options or share experiences.
