A religious party workers hold protest demonstration in Lahore

LAHORE: Supporters of a religious party on Saturday held protest demonstrations at various places in provincial metropolis.

According to details, scores of supporters came out to voice their protest against the Islamabad crackdown against religious parties’ supporters.

Protesters came from Data Darbar in response to Khadim Hussain Rizvi’s call and blocked the Metro route.

the protest against the operation in Faizabad, Islamabad, started at Imamia Colony, Shahdara, Data Darbar, Ferozpur Road, The Mall, and others places.

Protesters burnt tyres and blocked the Metro Bus route at different places.

However, police officials attempted to disperse them to which the protesters hurled stones on them.

SSP Operations, Muntazir Mehdi directed Policemen to arrest protesters who blocked the Metro route and the railway tracks.

According to the sources, many of the protesters have been arrested.
