How to get the Android P Developer Preview

Android P (Android 9.0) will be the next Android OS released from Google. Google to host the I/O Developer Conference 2018 somewhere between May 8 to 10. Google likely to reveal the first demo demonstrations for Android P. For now Developer Preview is available for Google devices.

Released in early March, the Android P Developer Preview is available only to the Pixel, Pixel XL, Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL. You can download the Android P system image and flash it to your device, or run Android P in an emulator.

If you do decide to flash the Developer Preview, to revert to your current OS you’ll need to flash a factory image.

What is Android P?

Android P (Android 9.0) will be the next Android OS released from Google. Since the initial release of Android, Google has used names of various desserts for the platform. These are the names that Google has used for Android versions.

What will Android 9.0 be called?

Since the early days of Android updates have been named after sweet treats and in alphabetical order. So far we’ve seen:

Android iteration might be called Android 9.0 Popsicle (ice on the stick) Or Android Pancake. It is clear that we are talking about a simple theory, Google being quite restrained in providing details about the new version of the operating system.
