Who is Rana Sanaullah? Past, Present and ....

My apology we have Personalities category, unfortunately, this person cannot be added into it, However, as people are searching for him here’s some information which I am pretty sure you are are not aware of.

Meet Rana Sanaullah. He is in news these days for his recent remarks on women who were part of PTI’s latest Lahore jalsa. But this is not the first time that he has let his big fat mouth loose and neither is this the most deplorable thing he has ever done.

In 1992, when he used to be with the PPP, Rana Sanaullah made a widely infamous speech in Chinniot city. While criticising the then PM Nawaz Sharif’s government, Rana turned to discuss Maryam Nawaz Sharif, her husband and her marital life making many below-the-belt personal jabs. The speech was so indecent that an FIR was registered against Rana on the charges of hate speech and public indecency but was never followed up.

But, that’s not all.

In 2014, three sons of a PML-N MNA from Faisalabad Mian Muhammad Farooq were booked for gang-rape of a girl. The medical examination of the victim confirmed she was raped. But Rana Sanaullah went on national media to defend the MNA’s sons saying the girl had an affair with them and that she “came to meet them at her own will”. Under severe pressure from local goons backed by Rana, the girl dropped the charges after a few days stating she was “not interested” in pursuing the case further.

In 2015, the Kasur Child Abuse scandal came to the surface: more than 200 children were sexually abused. Rather than investigating the case, Rana denied that anything of that sort had ever happened and said it was rather a land dispute between two groups that was wrongly projected on media. It was later reported that the child abuse and pornography racket of Kasur was backed by a group of local PML-N MPs.

In 2011, Rana Sanaullah alleged corruption on Babar Awan, who was a part of the PPP government back then, and publicly called Awan “Wajib-ul-qatl”. To put it in context: that was the law minister of the largest province of the country inciting murder of a parliamentarian.

Rana Sanaullah has also quite fondly been in bed with terrorist factions like Lashkar-e-Jhangvi and SSP for many years. Since 2008, Rana has run multiple election campaigns with the leadership of such banned outfits. As the law minister, he also oversaw payment of a monthly stipend to Malik Ishaq for some years.

Rana Sanaullah has also been expertly running a land-grabbing racket in Faisalabad for many years now. From his own business partners to widows to orphans, Rana and his goons have deprived many of their hard-earned property. Some of these cases were reported, many were not. But nothing could ever be done to bring him to justice. Instead, Rana Sanaullah has been using the compromised Punjab Police to intimidate people through fake FIRs and even staged encounters.

Rana Sanaullah is the right-hand man of Shehbaz Sharif. He is practically one of the most powerful men in the country right now and will continue to be so in any PML-N government.

Rana Sanaullah likened the women in the PTI rally to ‘tawaifs’. Let’s pray for a Pakistan where a tawaif has more respect than the likes of Rana Sanaullah.
