Lahore: Pakistan Awami Tehreek filed a petition in Lahore High Court urging to launch treason case against ex-prime minister Nawaz Sharif over his statements regarding 2008 Mumbai attacks.
The application was submitted by PAT leader Khurram Nawaz Gandapur.
The petition alleged Sharif of maligning Pakistan and national security departments. Former premier’s statement about Mumbai attacks is equal to treason.

Nawaz Shairf deliberately gave a controversial interview to malign the image of Pakistan, the petitioner said.
Earlier on Sunday, Nawaz Sharif claimed in an interview to an English daily, those who attacked hotel in Mumbai in 2008 hailed from Pakistan.
The former prime minister said, “Militant organizations are active. Call them non-state actors, should we allow them to cross the border and kill 150 people in Mumbai? Explain it to me.”
