KARACHI: At least 52 suspected people including five operatives of an outlawed outfit have been arrested during targeted operations in sensitive areas of the metropolis.
The Ranges personnel conducted operation in Nazimabad’s Haji Murid Goth and seized American light machine guns, Kalashnikovs, hand grenades, hundreds of bullets and a lot of narcotics.
According to the Rangers sources, some vital gang-war criminals involved in grave crimes in the city including Irfan, Farooq, Shakoor, Maoji and Govind were taken in custody.
The Rangers also cordoned off an area in Lines Area and conducted house-to-house search. At least ten people were arrested in the action. The Ranges sources claimed to have recovered at least 18 firearms including eight Kalashnikovs.
The troops also carried out a targeted operation in Machhar Colony located behind Al-Asif Square on Super Highway. In a search operation conducted amidst security cordon around the area, the Rangers troops arrested 21 suspected people and seized 41 weapons from their possession.
Rangers commandos, motorcycle contingent and female personnel took part in the action.
