Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s candidate and former foreign minister, Khawaja Muhammad Asif, retained his stronghold, NA-73 (Sialkot-2) constituency, against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s Usman Dar in the 11th General Elections.
According to official results, Asif bagged 116,957 votes against Dar’s 115,464 votes in the tightly-contested elections, in a major blow to the PTI.
However the result have been doubted after the presiding officer of polling station 243 located at Government Girls Primary School Miana Pura Magrbi Roras Road which has two male and two female booths in it. It has 1143 male and 927 females voters registered.
The presiding officer has accepted that he actually did go to his home with election results and official papers from his polling station.
After the arrest, ECP has summoned all the candidates to regional office. Tables can be turned as a result.
