The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has accepted the unconditional apology of National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq and former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister Pervez Khattak using unethical language during electoral campaign.
A bench headed by the ECP chief election commissioner heard the case against Ayaz Sadiq, MMA chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman and Pervez Khattak for violation of code of conduct during electoral campaign using foul languages against their opponents.
The all leaders leaders submitted their apology to the ECP over the using foul language. Pervez Khattak appeared before the commission and his lawyer submitted the written apology and video recorded statement. Meanwhile, Ayaz and Fazl’s consul Kamran Murtaza appeared behalf of them and submitted written apology.
During the hearing, the CEC remarked that Sardar Ayaz could see now his value and respect who was realizing his value. The commission has directed the said leaders to refrain from using indecent language for next time.
The commission has directed to notify the victory of the two leaders Ayaz from NA-129, Khattak from NA-25, PK-61 and 64 in the general elections.
Earlier, the ECP has sought reply with affidavit from Ayaz Sadiq, Maulana Fazalur Rehman and Pervez Khattak to remain on August 9.
The ECP asked from Ayaz, Pervaiz Khattak and Fazlur Rehman to use appropriate language during addressing the gatherings in election campaign. They were issued the directives today (on Saturday) during hearing of the notices issued to them for using inappropriate language against opponents in their speeches.
