JAPAN – A powerful earthquake magnitude 6.7 jolts northern island, Hokkaido in Japan earlier today. The Earthquake stuck at 3:08am (1808 GMT Wednesday) had a magnitude of 6.7, the Japan Meteorological Agency said.

Official in Noborito said there were no injuries and no death reported in that town, however NHK showed a brick wall collapsed and broken glass in a home and quoted local police as reporting there had been power outages and some people trapped in collapsed structures.
Government has not issued Tsunami warning.
