ABU DHABI: Best friend betrays a man in Abu Dhabi. The best friend whom he treated like family and trusted him gets cheated as he sells villa, commercial land and luxury car all worth Dh 9 million.
The Emirati national had given his friend (an Arab national) power of attorney. The power of attorney allowed him to manage, sell and transfer his property for him.
According to the Emirati man, he trusted his friend and loved him like his family. But his friend misused that trust and took advantage of it. He took advantage of him being busy with other business matters and convinced him to give him the power of attorney.

After getting the power of attorney he sold his property worth Dh9 million by selling it without the consent of the actual owner.
The defendant, however, has testified that he only did what the power of attorney allowed him to do.
The victim’s lawyer, Mohamed Al Marzouqi stated that if that was so, then the money obtained from the sale of the property should be handed over to the actual owner.
The court has given the date of the next hearing. The court is adjourned till 2nd October for both sides to prepare their statements.
